PWD Social club of Bamenda will face south African giants Kaizer Chiefs in the CAF champions league preliminary round.
The Draw for the 2020/2021 CAF champions league and Confederation cup preliminary and first round, took place on Monday 9 November 2020 in Cairo, Egypt, via Visioconference.
PWD of Bamenda will be making their debut in the CAF champions league. The team returns to continental football for the first time after 14 years, since they last featured in the CAF Confederation cup in 2004.
That year, the Abakwa Boys overpowered TP Mazembe in the first round but exited in the second round losing 5-2 on aggregate, to AS Douanes of senegal.
Coach David Pagou and his boys will be going full swing into the competition, as they target getting into the group stage of the competition.
The winner of the PWD vs Kaizer Chiefs tie will face 1° Agosto of Angola in the second round.
The preliminary round is expected to begin in the weekend of 27–29 November 2020 for the first leg, while the second leg are programmed on 4–6 December 2020.
